Directing

Eurydice

Director

Eurydice was my first large scale solo directing project. A new take on the Greek myth Orpheus and Eurydice, Sarah Ruhl's modern adaptation is a heart-wrenching tale of love, loss, and family. For this production, I honed in on the theme of water that is prevalent in the show, as evidenced by the blue tones and flowing backdrops. This is has been my proudest project and I hope to have the chance to direct it again.

Love Letters

Assistant Director

My first time directing with Theatre Huntsville! Worked with director Mark Moore on this beautiful show.

Cows Don't Fly

Director

Cows Don't Fly was my first solo foray into directing a Theatre for Youth piece. This production was taken as a tour to local elementary schools and was positively received by the children. Through this project, I learned the importance of finding comedy in every moment and honed that skill by incorporating physical comedy bits throughout the show.

Freaky Friday

Assistant Director

To gain experience directing musicals, I assistant directed Samford's Mainstage production of Freaky Friday. This high energy show was a blast to AD! Through this musical, I refined my large scale blocking skills and used techniques I had learned from directing TY to pump up the energy when it was lacking.

Inside Out

Director

Originally produced as a tour to local preschools, Inside Out was instead performed entirely virtually due to COVID-19. Through this process, I grew tremendously as a director. I began by researching best practices for directing Theatre for the Very Young. Taking those skills, my team and I worked together to make the show virtual and created a charming, entertaining piece of theatre.
